Complex protection and monitoring of an oil-pipeline (gas pipeline, etc)

       Oil-pipeline protection is one of the most difficult problems many oil-producing and oil-refining companies should solve. During 2004 the Russian oil-producing companies were losing thousands of dollars daily because of thefts and vandalism. This fact makes the management of an oil industry worry about the problem of economic interests protection by means of guarding equipment.
       Besides economic losses the problem is to protect such an important object as an oil-pipeline from terrorists. Our government is seriously worried about the protection of the most valuable economic and political resources as an oil-pipeline that bring billions of rubles to the Russian budget.
       This problem is not an easy one to solve because modern oil-pipelines are very old and complex and they are exploited at different environmental factors. The most complex points to protect are crossings of roads, railways, waterways and other obstacles. An oil-pipeline passing near towns and cities, large military and industrial establishments makes the protection even more difficult.

       An oil-pipeline is a complex engineering system that besides a pipe includes cathodic protection stations, booster stations, scaffold bridges, crossings and other engineering establishments requiring round-the-clock protection. For example, a restoration of one disabled cathodic protection station where the object of the theft is a transformer costs hundred thousand rubles.
       Having taken into consideration the problem of an oil industry security the experts of the SHICHEL company have developed several solutions for the oil-pipeline protection including the detection of undermining and any mechanical effects(drilling, breach, etc) using the security detectors of Gyurza series manufactured by the enterprise.
       For the detection of all the attempts of undermining a universal anti-tunneling security detector "Gyurza-038PZ" is used. It allows to design an effective security system for extended areas with the length of the guarded zone 1 kilometer, max.
      To make a security system an oil-pipeline is divided into parts, 2 km each. In the middle of each sector a signaling cabinet with two security detectors "Gyurza-038PZ", a power source and a system of connection to control equipment (radio, GSM transmitter) are installed.
      This division into the sectors helps to define an intrusion point accurate to 1 km.
      This system with the sensors - a tribicable  and a vibrocable- put into one and the same cable trench along the protected oil-pipeline registers all the attempts of an unauthorized tunneling, mechanical and explosive effects on the ground. It can also control a group of people or machinery passing by.
      A classical method of an unauthorized oil-pipeline tie-in is done by drilling or breaches that are accompanied with the deformation and generation of longitudinal mechanical waves. To reveal these efforts you are advised to use the piezoelectric security detector "Gyurza-050PZ"  with a longitudinal wave sensor or vibration security detector "Gyurza-048PZ" with vibration sensor (a vibrocable).
      These security detectors serve to protect an area with a guarded oil-pipeline 1 km, max.
      The suggested security system for the protection from tunneling and mechanical efforts (drilling and breaches) can be used for oil-pipelines, gas pipelines and other pipelines of any shape and length.
      Security detectors of Gyurza series are stable to man-made and environmental factors and function uninterruptedly round-the-clock at the ambient temperature range from -60 C up to +70 C. Low power consumption is one of the advantages of the described equipment. Passive principle of action eliminates a possibility of remote sensing and gives an opportunity to design a hidden security system.
